Retro Doges is a captivating collection of 6,969 unique PFPs (Profile Picture Tokens) on the Ethereum blockchain. This project is spearheaded by the dynamic duo of FeistyDao and Cryptopathic. With a nostalgic nod to the 80s and early 90s, Retro Doges captures the essence of the era while infusing it with the modern charm of the blockchain.
Origin Story: The inception of Retro Doges can be traced back to May 2022. It was during a brainstorming session at FeistyDao, under the guidance of CryptoPathic, that the idea of Retro Doges was born.
The team envisioned an NFT collection that would not only be visually appealing but also foster community engagement. The iconic Kabosu NFT, known as Feisty Doge, served as the muse for this project. Lil’ Dojo, a resident artist at FeistyDAO, reimagined Feisty Doge, keeping three core principles at heart:
Community and Collaborations: Retro Doges is not just an NFT collection; it’s a thriving ecosystem. The project emphasizes collaborative growth, with partners like Hyperfy, FeistyDAO, Moemate by Webaverse, and HologramLabs. Together, they aim to expand their presence across the metaverse, virtual reality, and various social and chat platforms.
Utility – A Dive into the Metaverse: For Retro Doges, interoperability is paramount. Beyond being distinctive art pieces, these NFTs are designed with “fun” as their cornerstone utility.
The project’s alignment with the concept of the Multiverse is a testament to their commitment to gaming and the Web3 realm. Collaborations with industry leaders like Webaverse, Hyperfy, and HologramLabs further accentuate this focus.
Each Retro Doge NFT is paired with corresponding .glb & .vrm files, allowing token holders to have both the original artwork and a 3D avatar in the metaverse that mirrors their PFP’s characteristics. This integration offers holders an immersive experience, enabling them to interact with other community members in the metaverse.
Furthermore, the hidden content within the .vrm files facilitates Vtube features, compatible with platforms like Twitch, Zoom, and Animaze. This format is pivotal for face-morphing across various platforms.
